Plate VII — Circumambulation
Structural intent
Represent circular traversal: an orbit around a center. The core is a ring path (or implied loop) with a stable central reference.
What must be observable
- A central anchor (object or void) around which the structure is organized.
- A circular or looping pathway (ring corridor, circular colonnade, spiral walkway).
- Radial consistency: elements point or curve around the same center.
- Clear “aroundness” rather than forward-only progression.
Common failure modes
- Circular forms without an implied path (a circle shape but no traversal).
- Multiple centers (conflicting radial anchors).
- Spiral mistaken for orbit when center is not stable.
- Oblique viewpoint that turns circular organization into an ellipse without context.
UI / system translation (non-symbolic)
- Use for dashboards, cycles, and periodic review flows.
- In UI: radial navigation, cyclical stepper, “return to center” controls.
- In system terms: periodic jobs, loops with stable invariants, ring buffers.
- QA: require clear center + traversable ring evidence.
